ST PETER’S ENGLISH ACADEMY

            St Peter’s English Academy is known as the academy of the entire Petrine community. It undertakes many programs throughout the year to enrich the life at St Peter’s. The programs are aimed to bring about the festive mood in the hearts and minds of the Petrines. The programs that took place during the academic year 2022-23 are;

Benjamin’s day:

            An initial start for the beginners for the academic year 2022-23 began with the fresher’s day, “Benjamins’ Smile” celebrated on the Eve of the Solemnity of Sts Peter and Paul. It unleashed the hidden talents of the Benjaminites to the community, it took the form of acting and dancing which added the colour to the Great Eve, which propelled the entire community to be on a festive mood.

Community day Celebration:

           On 04th of August, we celebrated the Community Day on the account of the feast of St John Marie Vianney. Skit competition was held and all the batches starting from Philosophers to Deacons enacted their dramas with full enthusiasm and vigour. Be the heart of Jesus was the message they conveyed through their skits. Thus, the feast day was a day of fun and togetherness.

Independence Day:

          The anticipated Diamond Jubilee of Independence Day was commemorated on 12th of August 2022. Shri Richard D’Souza, IAS was the chief Guest and Bro. Sanjay Juvanes gave the Patriotic speech. The Chief Guest also moved the audience with his thought-provoking speech. Thus the celebration enkindled the patriotism in the hearts of every Petrine.

Christmas Celebration:

         The celebration invited the community to make a “Journey to Bethlehem” in 21st century, Glory to God in the highest resounded in the various languages, fun games added colours for the celebration. Thus, it vividly put us all on the celebrative mood.

Deacons Farewell:

        “Adieu” to our elder brothers, an event to say thanks to God for bringing their priestly formation to completion brought tears in all our eyes. While thanking and wishing them for their future ministry, the event witnessed the words of sentiments, joys, sorrows and their memories. The reminiscence of deacons were enumerated as a token of spreading the fragrance of smile and laughter to the community, the deacons were felicitated by The Rector and Vice Rector.
